After forgetting your lights once, chances are you will be sure to have them on your next camping trip. If you have a fire and plenty of wood to fuel it then at least you can make it to the morning by staying close. The outdoors can potentially be extremely dark at night, especially in wooded areas so it is wise to be prepared with multiple camping lights.
I have put together a list of 5 camping lights that are ideal for various camping situations.
Head Lamp
If you know that you are going to be moving around at night, you will be glad you that you bought a head lamp. The straps hold the light securely to your head or wrist giving you hands free light when you need it. The whole setup weighs just a pound and is distributed in a way that you hardly notice after a couple of minutes. This headlamp includes 2 rechargeable batteries, a wall charger, a car charger, and a usb cable. If you are going on a long trip and there is no power source it also takes regular batteries.
String Lights
These 10 miniature LED camping lights are the perfect way to light up your kitchen area. Shaped like little lanterns, this portable string of lights runs on AA batteries. It weighs only .8 pounds and stretches up to 80 inches, ideal for hanging under your canopy to light a small area.
Tactical Flashlight
This handheld flashlight is small enough to tuck away pretty much anywhere and even has a convenient clip so you can keep it handy as well. Even though it is about the length of your palm this is a solid flashlight, both in durability as well as the light that it kicks out. One AA battery lights the LED with 300 lumens and last about a month with regular use. When you need light for something quick this will be your go to for handheld camping lights.
Lantern
Lanterns have been used for thousands of years, lighting the way in a much darker time. The Alaskanite collapsible LED lantern is a modern way to go. It can go almost anywhere thanks to the small height when it is compacted and it only weighs half of a pound. It is water resistant, to a certain extent. The lantern also has a one year warranty for a replacement, at no cost to you. The fact that it runs on AA batteries is convenient. They have about a 15 hour life so having some extra batteries wouldn’t hurt.
Tent Light Fan Combo
Sometimes rougher weather will cause you to remain in your tent. Because of this, it is nice to have a light hanging from above to light up your area. We all know just how dark and stuffy tents can get at night. The iMBAPrice 2-In-1 LED light/fan is a life saving combination that takes the edge off. The fan has a hook to hang it in your tent and has 18 individual LED lights around the outside. You can expect to get about 50 hours on low and 30 on high. The light hangs down about 6 inches and weighs in at a pound.
Tips
Having your lights is one thing, having batteries for your lights is another. Do NOT forget your batteries, it will get dark.
