I think it is fair to say that throughout the course of my adventures, a chair has been my most forgotten camping item. I’m usually so focused on preparing for the activities that I space on the down time completely. You will realize just how handy camping chairs are if you ever forget yours. For the most part I have been fortunate to camp with a few over prepared friends who seem to always have a couple extra laying around but you could always sit on your cooler in a pinch.
After a long day hiking, rafting, or whatever it is you like to do, it’s always nice to kick back next to the fire hang out with your friends. Here are some different styles of camping chairs to consider for your next camping trip.
Regular Camping Chair
The Coleman Broadband Quad Chair is made out of nylon and has a steel frame so you know it is going to last you for a long time. The mess back is great for airflow and it has adjustable arms so you can set them to where you need them. The chair is rated for 250 pounds but when folded it will store conveniently in most car trunks. When you’re ready to use it just pull it out of the carrying bag and pop it open, as easy as it sounds. Alone it is just 4 pounds and for under twenty dollars it is practically a steal, it even comes with a one year warranty if anything should go wrong.
Comfort Camping Chair
Also good for up to 250 pounds, the Zero Gravity Lounge Chair provides extreme comfort. It’s a bit heavier at 15 pounds, but the metal tube framing is powder coated which adds to the durability and overall life of the chair. The textilene sling fabric used for the chair is a high quality weather & fade resistant material. If you are thinking of going with this option be sure that you have the room to haul them, you won’t regret bringing them once you get there. Sunnydaze also offers a year long warranty covering any manufacturing issues.
Beach Camping Chair
The Tommy Bahama Backpack Beach Chair is perfect for short walks to the beach thanks to the straps. It weighs about 8 pounds but its low height and immense strength allow it to hold up to 300 pounds while remaining sturdy. There are plenty of pockets to carry any items you want to bring along as well as a small cooler for a couple cold ones. With 5 different positions and a removable head rest these chairs are a lot more comfortable than you may think.
On The Go Camping Chair
My little sister lives in Hawaii on Kona, she got an Air Lounger and absolutely loves it. This is the best option if you need to go lightweight. It’s just over 2 and a half pounds and airs up with ease. It is made out of ripstop nylon parachute. This is a heavy duty tear resistant fabric, built to last and backed with a money back guarantee. You can use them anywhere, even the water. They’re good for 2 people or 400 pounds!
Hammock Stand
Did you go with an Eagles Nest Outfitters Hammock from our previous article? Then the ENO SoloPod Hammock Stand is perfect if you want to use your hammock in even more locations. It’s heavy but once you set it up it is stable enough to hold 400 pounds. It may weigh more than other chair options. However, the powder coated steel is not only durable but it gives you the versatility to sleep as well. It has quick release, tool less construction allowing it to easily break down to a more portable size.
I want to hear from you
If you have used any of these chair options what is your opinion? Do you have any other chairs that you take camping? I love hearing from you so please feel free to leave a comment or ask any questions!
