The LifeStraw Personal Water Filter is a must have for emergency situations, but you can also put it to use in any of your outdoor adventures as well. LifeStraw Specifications
The straw is made using a hollow fiber membrane filter. The filter allows you to place the bottom end into the water source and immediately drink from the cap. The water is filtered at a rate of 1.7L per minute. The filter extremely durable and will last for up to 264 gallons, or about 5 years after it has been opened. As long as you use it and clean and take of it properly.
Cleaning the filter is nothing to worry about. Once you are finished drinking simply blow any excess water back out by blowing on the mouth piece.
There really are no limitations with the LifeStraw. You can use it to drink out of puddles if it comes down to it. It is just under nine inches in length by one inch around and weighs just 2 oz so it really can go anywhere with you. For twenty bucks you really can’t beat the piece of mind in having at least one of these straws in your kit.
