It may take a bit of training at first but taking your dog with you on camping trips is actually a lot easier than it sounds, as long as you are prepared with the right pet supplies.

There is no need to go crazy on your pet supplies, but you might want to get it a couple travel items to make your voyage a little smoother. The two main things that will come in handy are a saddle pack and collapsible food and water bowls. With these alone my dog is ready for almost any adventure.

The saddle pack allows your dog to carry things like its food and even the portable bowls so you don’t have to dig them out of your bag when you need them.

Collapsible Food and Water Bowls

Obviously your dog needs food and water so the first item you need for your dog is the travel bowls. I use Sunny Begining’s Travel Pet Bowl 2 Pack for Food & Water.  Each bowl is made of nylon making them completely waterproof.

They are 6.5 inches in diameter, 2.5 inches deep, and hold about four cups of food or water.  Weighing just over an ounce these foldable travel bowls will be perfect for your dog.

I have yet to have any problems with this product, I purchased these about 6 months ago and use them just about everywhere I go with my dog. They’re easy to wash, just throw them in the washer with the rest of my washable camping gear and let them air dry. pet supplies

Saddle Pack

For my dog’s saddle pack I went with the Lifeunion Saddle Bag Backpack for Dogs. On each side there is a main pocket, both have a zipper and are large enough to store your dog’s food as well as the collapsible bowls. The pack is made of a high quality polyester material, which is not only durable but also waterproof.

There are small, medium, and large sizes, each with adjustable straps so no matter how big or small your dog is there should be a perfect fit. I went with the small size which is perfect for my Blue Heeler puppy. Even though it is recommended for dogs between 19-38 pounds and he may outgrow it, it’s smart to get your puppy used to idea to avoid problems down the road. The chest measures 22.8″- 25.2″, the belly is 13.4″- 20.1″, and the neck is 14.2″- 16.1″.

I haven’t had any issues with the pack.  In addition, Lifeunion does have excellent customer service and the warranty covers any manufacture problems.pet supplies

The saddle pack should fit snug on your dog.  So take the time to measure otherwise your dog might not have the best time.
