When you are camping there are a lot of items that you could indeed go without if you really had to. The one thing that is absolutely crucial to your survival in any situation is a clean source of water.

While camping or backpacking you might not always have access to fresh water, bringing your own water is an unregrettable decision. There are so many different water bottles out there to choose from, it can be a challenge to find the one that is just right. An insulated water bottle is really the way to go. Not only will they keep your cold liquid cooler longer but also keep your heated liquids hot for a good amount of time.

My Favorite Water Bottles

wide mouth water bottles

Hydro Flask

The standard mouth, vacuum insulated stainless steel water bottles by Hydro Flask get the job done. They have multiple layers which gives them the insulation that they need to keep your liquids at the correct temperature, trapping the cold for up to 24 hours! The lids twist on and off and conveniently have a loop.  This allows you to hook it virtually anywhere for easy access along your travels. You can choose between 18 excellent colors, each of which have been powder coated adding to the overall durable and look of each water bottle. There are four sizes available, from 12-24oz as well as a wide mouth option for soup and other liquids. Hydro flask uses non-toxic BPA-free plastics and food-grade stainless steel to bring you these amazing water bottles.

Polar Bottle

Polar Bottle also makes insulated water bottles that might be exactly what you are looking for. They won’t keep your liquid cool as long as Hydro Flasks.  But, they do an exceptional job of keeping your drinks fresh. The 3 layers create decent insulation, giving you several hours of cool refreshment. To maximize insulation, these water bottles have plastic inner and outer layers.  The layers are separated by a layer of foil.  Polar Bottles are not that great when it comes to hot liquids however they are dishwasher safe. I have used these bottles while camping for years and have never had any complaints. The screw on top with mouthpiece allow you to drink with ease. With over 50 colors to choose from, there is bound to be one that is just perfect for you!
